Privacy policy
Your profile stays on your phone
Companion for Dota 2 is an unofficial, fan-made Android app by Foundry Works. This page explains what it keeps, where it goes online and what it never does. Last updated 25 October 2026.
The short version
- No account, no sign-in and no API key.
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no crash reporting.
- Everything you enter is stored on your phone and nowhere else. We have no server and receive nothing.
What the app keeps on your phone
Your profile (a display name, your side, an optional portrait and a featured hero); the players you follow and the one you mark as yourself; your Home layout and settings; copies of the public game data it has loaded, so the tools work offline; and whether you have supported the app. None of it leaves your phone.
Where the app goes online
The app reads public Dota 2 information from the services below. These requests carry only what is needed to answer them, such as a player name you searched for, plus what any internet request carries (your IP address and the app’s user agent). Each service’s own privacy policy applies to those requests.
Hero and item data, hero win rates and matchups, item builds, pro matches, and the public profiles and recent matches of players you search for.
Dota 2 news from Steam, and the hero, item and spell art.
The optional support purchase, at the suggested amount or one you choose from $2 up.
Supporting the app
Every tool is free; supporting the app unlocks the extra themes and the theme editor. The purchase goes through Google Play, which handles the payment; we never see your payment details. The app only remembers that you have supported it, on your phone, and checks it with Google Play so a refund is honoured.
Permissions
- Internet, for the services above.
- Picking a portrait uses Android’s photo picker, which hands the app only the picture you choose.
Deleting your data
Reset profile, under Profile in the app, deletes everything it has stored. Uninstalling the app does the same. As we hold nothing about you, there is nothing to request from us.
